The NASCAR playoffs in a nutshell (so far)

Oh boy. Brace yourselves for the "nAsCaR iSnT a SpOrT" jokers
Prove it's a non athletic sport
A sport is defined as “an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition.”
NASCAR, without a doubt, is competitive but it requires more of a mental than physical exertion. Drivers only need to be in good enough physical condition to fit in a car and not have a heart attack behind the wheel. NASCAR is the only competition where the spectators are more physically active than the “athletes”.
Sorry for the text wall but this will help you understand:
The opinion that “NASCAR is not a sport” is a common misconception because many people don’t realize that Motorsport is extremely different from driving an everyday car. As a result most people that drive cars think that NASCAR isn’t a sport since daily driving unathletic and easy.
Nascars have to go 200 miles per hour around the track and maintain it for about 200 or so laps (500 mile race). The drivers have to withstand up to 3g for 800 turns (assuming the race is 200 laps)
For a accurate representation, when a space shuttle lifts off it pulls about 3g.
And you are telling me that a person that has to withstand 3gs of force for a very long period of time over a course of 500 miles isn't an athlete?!
Don't even get me started with the pit crews
200 miles is 321.87 km
I recognize that Motorsport is different. I’m an active Motorsport participant. Not at the 200mph mark, but it’s still a big hobby of mine. I love Indy, and road courses. The ovals can fuck right off. The pit crew is another story. As someone with almost a decade of experience as a technician, those guys are on another level.
Think what you want, but the fact is that NASCAR is a sport
If you say so.
